Last updated: January 2025. These terms govern survey engagements with Cairnstone Surveying. A signed proposal or written authorization referencing these terms forms the agreement for your project.
Quotes and Authorization
Fixed-fee quotes are valid for sixty days and describe the survey type, limits, and deliverables. Fieldwork begins after written authorization. Conditions discovered on site that change the scope — inaccessible terrain, missing records, expanded limits — are quoted as a change before additional work proceeds.
Scheduling
Scheduled dates are confirmed in writing. Weather, site access, and permit delays can move fieldwork; we notify you promptly and rebook at the earliest availability. Time-critical dates such as closings and pours should be flagged at authorization so we can plan around them.
Deliverables and Payment
Plats, descriptions, CAD files, and reports listed in the proposal are delivered on completion. Payment terms appear on each invoice; sealed documents may be held until the final balance clears. Late balances accrue the rate stated on the invoice, where permitted by law.
Standard of Care and Liability
Services are performed consistent with the standard of care of licensed surveyors in this jurisdiction. Total liability for any engagement is limited to the fee paid for that engagement, and neither party is liable for indirect or consequential losses.
